of Purpose: The purpose of
District 26 Unity Council is to promote harmony among A.A. groups through
the practice of the 12 Traditions and the 12 Concepts. We are a fellowship
of Alcoholics from different groups within the district that encourage
participation and service.

- Meeting opened at 3:00 p.m. with introductions, The Statement of
purpose, the reading of the A.A. Declaration of Unity and the 11th
tradition and 11th concept.
- Old
Minutes: Motion to accept
as written. Minutes accepted.
- Old
Business:
- 1 DCM position is open see Gordon for
nominations or volunteers. We need 2 DCM’s and 2Alt. DCM’s.
- Please
consider having your minutes e-mailed to you to help save on costs.
New Business:
- No response from Beaverton on confirmation of next months
meeting location. Motion to
have the next meeting (January) at the 12 step club, accepted.
- Donations are being accepted for the coffee and
the hospitality rooms for the 56th Michigan State Convention
being held in Midland Michigan August 8-10th 2008.
- We will table any donations from this council
until we have a better turnout.
- We should take to the groups the message that we
need volunteers to offer service in this area; there are service
opportunities available in this area. We are at a crucial time in our
district, we need your help.
- We will look at mailing the minutes to the old
addressees and see if it helps the attendance issue. ($50.00 cost) Minutes
are available on the dist. 26 website.
D.C.M. Report
G.S.R. and Group Reports
- Good meeting attendance is reported from all the
GSR’s in attendance.
- Mike C. Friday 8 p.m. at the 12 step club and Sunday at the rose
city prince of peace church 7
p.m. are both doing good, good attendance.
- Thursday Big Book Study in Oscoda is doing good
- Janeen, Standish, nothing new Monday night
meeting has good attendance. Attendance is down but we are still having
good meetings. Sterling meetings are going good Sunday nights at 8 p.m. The Second Chance
Meeting.
- Houghton lake speaker meeting Saturday night is
doing well, the other meetings are slow.
- The northern most meeting in this area is in
Spruce, 27 miles from Alpena it’s actually in dist. 28 but its registered
here.
